Health
benefits of running and jogging
Regular
walking or jogging has many health benefits:
Helps build strong bones as it is a weight-bearing exercise
Strengthen
muscles
Improve
cardiopulmonary function
burn
many kilojoules
Helps
maintain a healthy weight.
An
inactive lifestyle is associated with increased mortality, coronary artery
disease, hypertension, and stroke. It is also a major cause of most chronic
diseases, as the body adapts rapidly to inadequate physical activity, greatly
reducing quality of life.
Regular physical activity, such as running, can significantly improve mental health, self-confidence, healthy aging, and quality of life. running vs jogging
The
difference between running and jogging is intensity. Running is faster than
jogging, burns more kilojoules and requires more power from the heart, lungs
and muscles. Running requires a higher level of general fitness than jogging.
Both running and jogging are aerobic exercises. Aerobic exercise means “with oxygen”. The term "aerobic exercise" refers to any physical activity that combines oxygen with blood sugar or body fat to produce energy.
